What is a Powerbank?

What is a powerbank?

Simply put, powerbanks are portable devices that allow electronic devices, such as mobile phones, to be charged when the user isn’t near a plug socket. Or in other words, they are life savers when your mobile reaches that dreaded 20%.

The name power bank can be likened to a financial bank where funds can be deposited, stored, and withdrawn when needed. These items are also often referred to as portable chargers, as they can charge items thanks to the power that has been deposited and stored in the powerbanks, without the need to be connected to the mains during charging.

Although our portable charges are most commonly used to charge mobile phones, this isn’t all that they are capable of charging. Our powerbanks can charge any electronic device that has a USB cable. So, whether it is your iPad, digital camera or laptop that needs that extra boost, simply plug it into one of our devices and are ready to go.

What is mAH

Different powerbanks hold different amounts of charge, known as mAh. The higher the mAH the more power the powerbank will be able to provide your device with.

Here is the method to find Watt Hours: Just take Milliamp Hours/1000 x Voltage = Watt Hours (mAh)/1000 x (V) = (Wh). For example, our Powerbank Plus which has an 8000 mAh and an output voltage of 40 = 8000 mAh / 1000 = (8 x 5V) 40-Watt Hours.

Our Shirt Powerbanks and Powerbanks Pluses have two USB ports, which means that that they can charge two devices at the same time. Thanks to their large capacity, they are perfect for dual charging and should be able to fully charge two phones at the same time.

So if you are looking for a device that you can take with you no matter where you go, to ensure your phone will never lose charge you need to invest in a powerbank!
